We firmly believe that media companies in emerging democracies are the best source of advice for one another and can help each other master their common problems. When we need an expert to provide advice and assistance to a news media business facing a specific problem, we send other clients whenever possible, although we will call on western experts where appropriate.
MDLF works to identify the most successful solutions implemented by its clients – strategies developed through their unique strengths and circumstances. It then spreads those solutions through its client network wherever needed, through client-to-client consultations and site visits, round-table seminars or its bi-annual Media Forum.
The Media Forum brings clients together in an environment which is intense, creative and – most importantly – useful. It provides an opportunity for clients to meet, network and exchange ideas over two days of participative discussions and workshops. The most recent Media Forum was co-hosted by elPeriodico in Guatemala. Read more here.
“We discovered that many problems we had been working on for a long time had already been solved by others in other parts of the world.” Ihor P. Pochinok, Director, Publishing Group Express, Ukraine
